Rodolphe Leroy, « Identification d’un état inédit de l’estampe Alexandre versant l’or aux prêtres d’Ammon signée Jean Mignon », Nouvelles de l'estampe, ID : 10.4000/estampe.1361
There are only two known engravings signed by Jean Mignon, a decorative cartouche and an « Alexander gifting gold to the priests of Ammon ». Until now, the latter was known only in one state and two proofs kept at the British Museum and the École des beaux-arts in Paris. In 2016 the Dole city library purchased an album of prints that contained a different state of this engraving. A close examination further shows that the British Museum proof is actually from the same state as this Dole print.
