Claude Rioux, « Réglementation du marché du travail : une perspective syndicale », Éthique publique, ID : 10.4000/ethiquepublique.2699
In many ways, what we call the labour market is different from all other markets. For the author, a union representative, this market comprised of men and women, cannot be treated like the other markets, because we are dealing with human beings who cannot properly be seen as goods. The market-oriented conception of labour that we sometimes find in the often-simplistic remarks of analysts or economists prompts trade unionists to advocate mechanisms to regulate relations in the labour market. It is in this spirit that this text sets out to defend the role of the State and its arsenal of regulations.
