The photography of Allan McCollum (Surrogate on location and Perpetual Photographies), Eric Rondepierre (DSL) and Wolfgang Tillmans (Sendeschluss/End of Broadcast and Weak Signal) renders the flux of small screen images by blurring the spectator's perception of imagery. The alterations that imagery undergoes on the screen has been developed as a motif by photographers. The features of iconic flux comprising this motif enable relationships to be drawn between photography and other pictorial traditions.
