Résumé En Fr

A new theme started to emerge in the 1990s in Turkish literature: depicting gangs’ life in the Istanbul suburbs and introducing a new type of individual –the thug– an anti-hero of contemporary fiction. Both intent on evoking the urban renovation and the « unseen » development of the city, the authors concerned manage to challenge the current sociological view of Turkey.
