La parola tezan ha un ruolo fondamentale nell’architettura del testo del Cippo di Perugia. Malgrado ciò, le generali difficoltà che si riscontrano nell’analisi di iscrizioni etrusche, unite alla complessità evidente di un testo lungo come quello del Cippo, rendono l’interpretazione di tezan tutt’altro che agevole. Una rassegna critica delle altre attestazioni di tezan può fornire ulteriori elementi alla ricerca e permettere di avere un quadro più completo delle informazioni, utile anche per verificare in via preliminare la verosimiglianza delle varie ipotesi di interpretazione che nel tempo sono state proposte.

The word tezan is of great importance in the structure of the Cippus of Perugia. Despite it, it is very difficult to provide a thorough intrepretation, basically because of the general difficulty when dealing with Etruscan inscriptions, as also because of the greater complexity of longer texts, such as that of the Cippus. In this sense, reviewing analitically the other Etruscan inscriptions containing the word tezan can be of great help, especially for the analysis of the hypotheses of interpretation of tezan that were provided in the past years.
