The concept of ‘narratives’ is one of the ‘animal spirits’ in the 2009 book that Robert Schiller co-authored with another Nobel laureate, George Akerlof (Akerlof and Shiller, 2009). Since then, Shiller has developed the program of a ‘narrative economics’, with milestones such as the 2017 American Economic Association address (Shiller, 2017).
