O presente trabalho tem como objetivo uma reflexão acerca do lugar que ocupa um fotógrafo negro, enquanto tal e militante, que registra uma movimentação social antirracista da qual ele faz parte. A partir da análise de fotografias, divulgadas e disseminadas pelas redes sociais, dos protestos desencadeados pelo assassinato do norte-americano George Floyd, um homem negro, por um policial branco na cidade de Minneapolis, Estados Unidos. Para isso, foram observados trabalhos desenvolvidos por cinco fotógrafos negros nas manifestações ocorridas na cidade de Nova Iorque ao longo do mês de junho de 2020, pensando as simbologias e signos denotados nesses registros e o seu papel como ferramenta de comunicação. Essa análise foi possibilitada pela presença ativa desses fotógrafos nas redes sociais e a popularidade das hashtags relacionadas ao tema, que permitiram acesso não apenas às fotografias, mas também aos relatos e opiniões dos fotógrafos.  

The present paper aims to reflect on the place occupied by a black photographer, as such and as a militant, documenting an anti-racist social movement they are part of. By analyzing photographs, divulged and disseminated on the social media, of the protests initiated in 2020 with the murder of the North American George Floyd, a black man, by a white police officer in the city of Minneapolis, United States. Thereunto, the work developed by five black photographers, in New York’s june manifestations, was observed and analyzed, as well as the denoted symbologies and signs in these registers, in their role as a communication instrument. This examination was only possible by the active presence of such photographers on social media, along with the popularity of the related hashtags, which allowed access not only to the photographs but also to the photographer's statements and opinions.
