L’objectif de cet article est de montrer en quoi la crise écologique en étant objet de fiction peut être mise au service d’une éducation à l’Anthropocène. En décrivant l’effondrement menant à l’extinction de l’humanité, la fiction post-apocalyptique rend compte de la destruction d’un monde commun. Elle fait apparaître le caractère insoutenable de notre modèle de développement basé sur la surexploitation des ressources naturelle en mettant en relation les crises écologiques, climatiques, sanitaires et économiques. Le cinéma post-apocalyptique parvient à synthétiser des craintes communes face à un monde hanté par les successions de catastrophes qui ont émaillé le cours de son histoire récente et qui influencent, au présent, notre perception de l’avenir. Sur cette base nous nous attacherons à montrer que le cinéma post-apocalyptique, tout en donnant forme aux imaginaires du désastre, peut contribuer par sa vision délibérément sombre et désespérée du monde de demain à alerter et faire réagir positivement le public. La fascination que procure le spectacle horrifique et hallucinatoire de l’effondrement du monde peut susciter, aussi, l’espoir de son renouvellement.

The objective of this article is to show how the ecological crisis by being the object of fiction can be put at the service of an education to the Anthropocene. In describing the collapse leading to the extinction of humanity, post-apocalyptic fiction accounts for the destruction of a common world. It highlights the unsustainable nature of our development model based on the over-exploitation of natural resources by linking ecological, climatic, health and economic crises. Post-apocalyptic cinema manages to synthesize common fears in the face of a world haunted by the succession of catastrophes that have tainted the course of its recent history and that influence, in the present, our perception of the future. On this basis we will strive to show that post-apocalyptic cinema, while giving shape to the imaginations of disaster, can contribute by its deliberately dark and desperate vision of the world of tomorrow to alert and make the public react positively. The fascination of the horrific and hallucinatory spectacle of the collapse of the world can also inspire hope for its renewal.
