Pascal Quignard’s work was present in Italy throughout the first half of the 1980s, when Garzanti and Frassinelli published several translations of his books. After, though, the translations began to slow down and over time his work was forgotten. The translations only picked up again in 2014, following an encounter between a psychoanalyst and avid reader of Quignard, and a soprano, the founding director of Analogon, a small publishing house which had thus far been dedicated to music.
