Le complexe médiéval de Khirbat al-Dūsaq (Shawbak)

– Le site de Khirbat al-Dūsaq, près de Shawbak, a fait l’objet en 2008 d’une mission d’étude permettant d’y confirmer la présence d’un hammam et d’un īwān doté d’un bassin (birka). Elle fut suivie en 2009 d’une première campagne de fouille centrée sur le bassin et sur la salle chaude du bain. Cette opération avait pour objectifs, d’une part, d’établir le plan de la birka qui alimentait le bain et, d’autre part, d’appréhender le fonctionnement du système de chauffe de ce dernier. L’analyse des éléments de décor mis au jour et de la typologie du bâti, mise en perspective avec le contexte historique, a alors permis de cerner la datation de cet ensemble médiéval (entre la fin du xiie et le milieu du xive s.). Elle a également permis d’entamer une réflexion relative à la fois à l’identité du commanditaire et des constructeurs, ainsi qu’à la raison d’être de ce luxueux complexe, construit à proximité de la forteresse de Shawbak.

– In 2008 a preliminary survey was carried out on the site of Khirbat al-Dūsaq near Shawbak and confirmed the presence of a bath and an īwān opening onto a large pool. In 2009, the first excavation campaign focused on the pool and the hot room. It was conducted with a twofold objective: to draw the plan of the pool which supplied the bath with water and also to study the heating system of the hammam. Thanks to the analysis of the decorative elements and architectural typology of the building put in perspective with the historical context, the approximate date of this Medieval complex (between the 12th and the 14th cent.) could be defined. Finally, some hypotheses regarding the identity of the sponsor and builders as well as the raison d’être of this luxurious residence built near the Shawbak citadel were developed.

تقع خربة الدوسق قرب قلعة الشوبك، لقد كان تركیز البعثة الأثریة التي كانت تقوم بالدراسة في عام ٢٠٠٨ التأكید على وجود الحمام والبركة والإیوان، ثم تبع ذلك في عام ٢٠٠٩ قیام أول بعثة تنقیب بالتركیز على الحوض وغرفة الحمام الساخنة. أما أهداف هذه العملیة فقد كانت، أوًلا، تحدید مستوى البركة التي تزود الحمام بالماء، وثان ً یا، فهم ألیة عمل نظام التدفئة بالبخار، بالإضافة إلى تحلیل العناصر الزخرفیة وشكل هذا المبنى ومنظوره وسیاقه التاریخي، الأمر الذي سمح بتحدید تأریخ هذا امع المعماري الذي شید خلال فترة العصور الوسطى (ما بین القرن الثاني عشر والرابع عشر) كما سمح ذلك أیضاً بالبدء بالتفكیر بهویة مشیدیه وبنائیه وسبب وجوده كمجمع ترفیهي مبني على مقربة من قلعة الشوبك.
