Variations on the face as metaphor, i.e. as a condensation of the visible and the invisible. This article proceeds as a stroll, a “promenade” beginning with a poem by Gaston Miron which provides the title for this text; stumping onto LÉvinas' impracticable ethic; moving towards Freud's scene and the analytical seance, where the face becomes mirror; crossing Proust's way, at the Bal of heads; convoking Moses and the veiling of the divine Face; reaching finally Artaud in front of the always already “to come” of the face. This article presents the face as time matter and origin of speech.
