David Rajotte, « Des jeunes nationalistes dans les années 1940 : les Jeunes Laurentiens », Mens: Revue d'histoire intellectuelle de l'Amérique française, ID : 10.7202/1022835ar
The Jeunes Laurentiens were a movement of young French Canadian nationalists who were active from 1940 to 1950. Though the movement has generated little scholarly interest, it was quite influential at its height and could count on the support of almost 5,000 members spread out between Winnipeg and Moncton. This article examines the thought of the Jeunes Laurentiens and shows that that the group offered an excellent synthesis of the eras nationalist discourse. The Jeunes Laurentiens were fervent supporters of Lionel Groulx and were involved in the anti-conscription movement, which contributed to their popularity. They believed that their youthfulness made them more apt to ensure the transformations that were necessary to the survival of the French Canadian nation.
