Pierre-Frédéric Weber, « Les relations franco-polonaises face aux événements de mars 1968 en Pologne : La continuité à l’épreuve des tensions intérieures et internationales », 20 & 21. Revue d'histoire, ID : 10670/1.s9iluz
Domestic and international challenges to continuity1968 was characterized by generationally motivated uprisings in several Western societies, but there were also examples of upheaval in some socialist countries, albeit ones that were partially motivated by other demands —especially for greater freedom. In Poland, for instance, the events of “March 68” marked a disruptive moment in postwar history. While French diplomacy was trying to open up its policy toward the East and in particular seeking to renew its traditional ties to Poland, turmoil within the Polish regime threatened French-Polish relations. However, domestic factors in France as well as the broader international context distracted from most of this turmoil, eventually meaning that it had no major effect on further bilateral contacts.
