Heiner Müller, who had observed “the June 17th, 1953” events and considered them first as “an interesting spectacle”, later reconsidered them and measured their historical dimension. He kept writing and rewriting the taboo, more or less in an encrypted way, first as a means to point out the dysfunctioning of the system ( Der Lohndrücker, Glücksgott, “Das Arbeiterdenkmal” in Germania Tod in Berlin), then, through the archeology of German history, to reveal the underlying reasons for East Germany’s failure (“Brüder 2” in Germania, Wolokolamsker Chaussee). The different strategies of encrypting and de- encrypting relied upon, not only concerning the contents but also the form as language, will be analyzed in this paper.
