La puissance créatrice et recréatrice de Dieu Trinité qui accompagne l’histoire ouvre à l’humanité une promesse de salut plus originelle que le péché originel. Naître en humanité, c’est naître dans le Christ sous cette promesse. L’humanisation que l’on peut entendre comme une réponse à l’appel du vrai, du bien et du beau, est par elle-même une voie de salut, une porte d’entrée dans le Royaume de Dieu. L’appartenance baptismale à l’Église et la confession de foi explicite en Jésus-Christ ne sont pas la voie obligée pour bénéficier du salut. La droiture humaine et la miséricorde de Dieu suffisent. La foi chrétienne en Église, si elle n’est pas nécessaire pour le salut, est cependant infiniment précieuse et radicalement salutaire pour ce qu’elle permet de reconnaître, de vivre et de célébrer. C’est par amour et pour la joie que la Bonne Nouvelle est annoncée à tous et que le devenir chrétien est proposé au sein même du devenir humain. Les chrétiens n’ont pas le pouvoir de transmettre leur foi, mais ils peuvent veiller aux conditions favorables qui la rendent désirable. On peut en dénombrer au moins trois : l’intelligence de la foi, la qualité des relations entre le témoin et ses destinataires, la vie en Église éprouvée comme humanisante.

The creative and recreating power of the Triune God that operates throughout history offers a promise of salvation to humanity much earlier than original sin. To be born in humanity is to be born in Christ according to this promise. Humanization, which can be understood as a response to the call of truth, goodness and beauty, is in itself a path of salvation, a gateway to the Kingdom of God. Being part of the Church through baptism and explicitly confessing one’s faith in Jesus Christ are not the obligatory means to salvation. Human righteousness and God’s mercy are sufficient. If Christian faith in the Church is not absolutely necessary for salvation, it is however infinitely precious and radically salutary for what it enables one to recognize, live and celebrate. It is out of love and for the purpose of joy that the Gospel is announced to everyone and that the process of becoming a Christian is offered within the very heart of becoming human. Christians do not have the power to transmit their faith, but they can watch over the favourable conditions that make it desirable. At least three of them can be enumerated : intelligence of the faith, quality of relationship between the witness and the recipients, life in the Church experienced as humanizing.
