The official celebration of the Traité de l’Elysée (22 January 1963) may be considered as an occasion to point out the elusive relationship between art and politics, particularly from the german art point of view with the examples of some artists of great reputation nowadays, Georg Baselitz, Markus Lüpertz, Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, Jorg Immendorff, A.R. Penck, Anselm Kiefer, Joseph Beuys, Blinky Palermo. The topic of memory underlines their differences when occurs the moment of an independent way for german painting and sculpture in the late RFA.
