L’opération de fouille réalisée sur la commune de Châtelet-sur-Retourne dans les Ardennes a permis d’explorer un petit établissement du Premier âge du Fer. Il se caractérise par la présence de plusieurs bâtiments construits sur une architecture de plan simple à quatre poteaux, interprétés comme des structures de stockage, mais des édifices à l’architecture plus complexe, dits à « cadre interne », sont également présents. L’excellent état de conservation de ces derniers suggère d’envisager un regard différent sur certaines interprétations de bâtiments à plan simple.

The excavation conducted in the district of Châtelet-sur-Retourne in the Ardennes enabled the exploration of a small establishment from the end of the Early Iron Age. It is characterized by the presence of several buildings constructed according to a simple architectural plan with four posts and interpreted as storage structures. However, edifices with a more complex architecture with an “internal frame” are also present. The excellent state of preservation of the latter suggests that it may be useful to consider some interpretations of buildings with a simple plan from a different perspective.

Auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde Châtelet-sur-Retourne in den Ardennen wurde eine kleine späthallstattzeitliche Siedlung ausgegraben. Die Bodenbefunde zeugen von mehreren Gebäuden mit einfachem Grundriss und vier Pfosten, die als Speicherbauten interpretiert werden. Doch es wurden auch Gebäude mit einer komplexeren Architektur aufgedeckt: dreischiffige Gebäude sog. „édifices à cadre interne“. Deren hervorragender Erhaltungszustand regt an manche Interpretationen von „Gebäude mit innerem Rahmen“ aus einer neuen Perspektive zu betrachten.
