Résumé
Online communication has altered the relationship people have with medical information and the way it is written. This article focuses on how an encyclopædic article in the field of medicine is transformed when it goes digital. Our contribution compares and contrasts a corpus of medical dictionaries in both paper and digital formats focusing on the entry “ cancer”. The results are consistent with studies carried out on digital discourse in general but also help to identify some of the specific changes that digital technologies have brought to the medical encyclopædic text.
