Pierre-Noël Denieuil, « Compared Representations and Limits of the Notion of Participation in Africa and in Latin America : Participation for Development by Albert Meister », Revue Tiers Monde, ID : 10670/1.554ta1
This article proposes a geopolitical reading of Albert Meister's works on participation for development. Their interest is to situate such voluntary participatory actions within "the framework of the societies where they originated," because they do not refer to the same conditions of development. African solidarity, for example, does not form a political project as in Latin America. While desanctifying the notion of participation (a cross between the mimicry of public administrations and the new domination of classes), Meister reaffirms his trust in individual initiative and in diverse forms of leadership.
