Le discours du religieux, inspiré des mathèmes de Lacan, est proposé et s’élabore ici comme une torsion, si ce n’est l’envers ou la palinodie du « discours de l’analyste ». Proposer cette hardiesse conceptuelle permet d’engager une dialectique entre vérité de l’inconscient et vérité spirituelle.Préciser la teneur et la structure de ce discours du religieux – mettant en lien le sujet divisé avec la vérité, le savoir et l’objet cause du désir – pourrait nous conduire à mieux entendre nos patients pour lesquels la problématique religieuse vient en porte-à-faux avec le divan. Et déjouer certaines dérives du discours non de l’analyste, mais « sur » l’analyse, qui cherche à imposer une vérité épistémologique, autrement dit une « parole d’évangile » portant préjudice à l’analyse.

Religious discourse, inspired the mathemes of Lacan, is proposed and elaborated here like a torsion, not as the inverse or palinode nor as the « discourse of the analyst ». Proposing this conceptual audacity allows us to engage a dialectic between the truth of the unconscious and spiritual truth. Clarifying the tenor and structure of religious discourse – linking the divided subject with truth, knowledge, and the object cause of desire – allows us to better listen to our patients for whom the religious problematic resonates awkwardly from the analytic couch. This permits us to thwart certain derivatives of discourse – not of the analyst, but “on” analysis, that look to impose an epistemological truth, or in other words, an “evangelical speech” that is prejudiced against analysis.
