Le genre nouveau Tenospilota n. gen. est créé avec comme espèce-type Plistospilota nova Beier, 1930, qui s’est révélée notablement différente des autres espèces de Plistospilota Giglio-Tos, 1911, mais relativement proche de Tenodera Burmeister, 1838. La nouvelle combinaison Tenospilota nova (Beier, 1930), n. comb., est proposée.

A new genus of Tenoderinae (Mantodea, Mantidae). The new genus Tenospilota n. gen. is created with Plistospilota nova Beier, 1930, as type-species, distinctly different from other species of Plistospilota Giglio-Tos, 1911, but somewhat closely allied to Tenodera Burmeister, 1838. The new combination Tenospilota nova (Beier, 1930), n. comb., is proposed.
