Spatialised graphs intersect several questions and fields: from biology (with leaves venation network or neuronal networks)and geomorphology (with fluvial networks), to town planning (with transport networks) and technologies (energy networks or telecommunication networks). We will focus in this paper on street networks. We will define through them a multi-scale object to build a hypergraph and indicators which will help us to read cities through their lines. We explain the particularities of spatial graphs, focusing on continuities and alignment. Topographical and topological information are highlighted as useful in space characterization. Our object, the path, is shown to be robust to border effects and relevant for a multi-scale analysis of spatial networks.
