Résumé En Fr

This article shows how the invention and practice of a vegan diet, which excludes all animal foodstuffs, is based on a food technology: the use of vitamin B12 supplements. On the one hand, veganism constitutes an anthropological rupture with the incorporation of animals, with a view to repairing the living world and thus contributing to the moral progress of human beings. On the other hand, it is a way of overcoming the ills of the human body and thereby silencing its resistance to veganism. Becoming a vegan is a self-practice that relates to both asceticism and human enhancement.
