Réfléchissant à partir de la fable que raconte Jones sur ce qu’il arriva à Breuer à la fin de la cure d’Anna O., l’auteur attire l’attention sur les effets lucifériens du transfert et sur les influences qu’il peut avoir sur la vie quotidienne du psychanalyste.

Is the Psychoanalyst’s Life Affected by Transference ? While it is commonly accepted that a psychoanalytical cure influences the patient concerned, in some way modifying him or her from a psychical or somatic point of view, the psychical and somatic modifications in the analyst caused by transference are far less frequently taken into consideration. This paper takes as its starting point the story told by Jones on what happened to Breuer at the end of the cure of Anna O and draws our attention to the demonic effects of transference and the influence this may have on the psychoanalyst’s daily existence.
