1.0. Introduction The title Pirqe de-Rabbi Eliezer (PRE) seems to tell us all we need to know about the religious proclivities of its author. The eighth- or ninth-century work is pseudonymously attributed to a rabbi, one of the most frequently quoted Sages in the Mishnah, R. Eliezer ben Hyrcanus.
