This article focuses on obstacles that hinder adults with limited schooling from going back to school. The four dimensions we looked at are situational, dispositional, informational, and institutional. These obstacles were identified and described on the basis of data collected from individual interviews conducted with persons of limited educational background, participants, non-participants and former participants enrolled in training activities, as well as discussion groups made up of teachers and trainers.
