This article explores the role of the school library, and information-documentation, as potential levers for change at school, between technological and educational innovation. We discuss the results of research on innovation within school « Documentation and Information Centers », from the 1970s to the present. For the current period we present results of a recent study on the Learning Centre process and its innovative potential, with reference to case studies in secondary education
