Le courtier est à la fois le facilitateur, le négociateur et le traducteur de la charte-partie. Le temps particulier de la négociation offre une illustration intéressante du concept de transaction-pivot. Celle-ci marque le basculement de la sphère terrestre à la sphère maritime.
