Une poétique du fragment : la poésie de Rodolfo Di Biasio

Présentant une organisation remarquablement homologue, Patmos (1995) et Poemetti elementari (2008) procèdent d’une écriture du fragment. Ainsi, le premier recueil propose une série de variations à partir de son poème initial : Fragments pour le poemetto de Patmos. Ensuite, par la prosodie, le genre du poemetto impose un cadre formel avec, notamment, un nombre réduit de « sections » numériquement composées. Enfin, dans leur présentation spatio-visuelle, la fragmentation graphique correspond à un amenuisement de l’écriture rarement atteint en poésie. La forme brève résulte d’une soustraction implacable, d’un effacement du langage réduit à ses ressorts élémentaires : ainsi de Poemetti elementari qui renoue avec la forme épigraphique d’inspiration latine. Organiquement composés, ces recueils sont à la fois achevés mais, non moins, inachevés puisque, entre eux, l’effet de reprise hypertextuelle inachève ce qui paraissait isolément clos.

Although organized in a remarkably homologous way, Patmos (1995) and Poemetti elementari (2008) display a written form that is visibly fragmented. The former book can be read as a series of variations stemming from its first poem: Fragments for the Patmos Poem. Their fragmentation also pertains to the prosody involved: the poemetto as a genre imposes a formal framework within which a reduced number of "sections" are numerically arranged. Last, these poems are fragmentary through their spatio-visual dimension. Yet, this graphic fragmentation is related to a drastic verbal minimalism that is rarely achieved in poetry. Short and shattered verse results from a deliberate substraction, a self- imposed erasing of poetic language reduced to its elementary means: as exemplified by Poemetti elementari which draws from the Latin epigraphic genre. While organically composed, these two books are perfectly completed but, nonetheless, unfinished: the hypertextual relations make them incomplete, or open up what may have seemed, if read separately, as closed works.
