Résumé En

Among all tropical destinations, French Polynesia offers unique opportunities to observe the marine fauna, particularly in its lagoons, interface between the ocean and the coast. At the same time, the progression of tourism has led to a profit race which encourages the emergence of new activities and contributes to a reorganization of space, harming local communities that are gradually dispossessed of their territory. In Moorea, a strong human presence is generating inevitable spatial tensions, for which shark feedings are partly responsible. The objective of the Management Plan for Maritime Space (Plan de Gestion des Espaces Maritimes) is to reconcile the development of profitable economic activity with the respect of the environmental equilibrium and the right of every individual to take advantage of the lagoon space.
