Résumé 0

We invite the reader to think about the clinic of the extreme from the shift that art allows us, and in particular the work of Niki de Saint Phalle. The scene of the “Shooting-Performances”, which the artist presents as public assassinations, is presented as a topical peripheralization involving the instinctual and its extinction. This device is a veritable intimate sounding board allowing the artist to re-enact the traumatic experience, to shape it by occupying the place of an acting subject. The artist truly enters into a trance, into ecstasy, faced with the astonishment and terror that she executes in a sort of narcissistic orgy. The process of projection-introjection is here particularly invited from the game with the environment. This detour through art allows on many points to apprehend what seems to be at stake in the most extreme violence.
