Julien Zarifian, « Les médias américains et la (non-)reconnaissance du génocide des Arméniens aux États-Unis », Revue française d’études américaines, ID : 10670/1.dzshyr
Following a pattern set by U.S. authorities, U.S. media are extremely ambivalent in the way they name and discuss the Armenian Genocide. When the massacres were perpetrated between 1915 and 1917 (and immediately after), the American press covered them and never expressed any doubt regarding the fact that they were massive and organized. But since then—and still to this day—it has been much more hesitant to consider and qualify the massacres as genocide. The main goal of this article is to study this ambivalence and to understand its reasons and consequences.
