Through a dual qualitative study conducted with 20 consumers and 8 salespeople, thisresearch explores the factors that may explain the consumer's arbitration between interactingwith a salesperson or with an interactive technology within a phygital store. The empirical study reveals that consumer arbitrage occurs between three interaction patterns: interaction with the seller, interaction with interactive technology, joint interaction with the salesperson and interactive technology. The study also exposes a combination of factors that determine this arbitrage.
