Il lavoro analitico non propone qui una semplice ricostruzione nella quale la storicità non avrebbe nessuna importanza, né una rettifica dell’immaginario da un reale che sarebbe verità, ma consiste nello scegliere, nelle tracce storiche, quello che offrirà un appoggio per “prendere senso”. Come i resti diurni rimaneggiati dicono, non l’inconscio, ma la via aperta verso di esso, così la proposta di sognare da svegli è una proposta di risveglio a un altro mondo. Come i miti delle origini permettono agli uomini di inserirsi nella loro storia, così il lavoro psicanalitico induce l’immagine ad assumere il valore di simbolo con il sostegno della relazione transferenziale.
