À l’heure où dominent, dans une grande partie du monde, les libéralismes économiques et politiques, à une époque marquée par la pandémie mondiale, Rocco Femia s’interroge sur le concept de radicalité en remontant à sa racine : le choix de la profondeur dans l’appréhension des choses, de l’engagement sans faille dans les idées. En parcourant l’histoire économique du monde occidental depuis le second après-guerre, en faisant appel à certains philosophes et penseurs des xxe et xxie tels que Karl Marx, Hannah Arendt ou encore le pape François, tout en mobilisant des écrits aussi anciens que les Évangiles, Rocco Femia, dans ce texte, donne de la radicalité une définition presque programmatique.

At a time when economic and political liberalisms dominate in a large part of the world, at a time marked by the global pandemic, Rocco Femia questions the concept of radicality by going back to its roots: the choice of depth in the apprehension of things, of total engagement in ideas. By retracing the economic history of the Western world since the end of the Second World War, calling upon certain philosophers and thinkers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries such as Karl Marx, Hannah Arendt, and even Pope Francis, and drawing on writings as old as the Gospel, Rocco Femia gives radicality a nearly programmatic definition.
