Abstract 0

This article looks into the first decade of the humanitarian action directed by the Lausanne-based association Terre des Hommes, during the 1960s Algerian and Vietnam Wars. It focuses on its main activity, the legal and de facto adoption of foreign children in Switzerland. The purpose is to study, on the one hand, the relationship between Terre des hommes, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Swiss Federal State, and on the other hand, the modernization process of the Swiss adoption laws.
