We can interpret ‘understanding autism’ in different ways and on different levels. In the previous chapter, I described how people have tried to explain autistic behaviour based on specific cognitive models. I explained the most prevalent of these models, and demonstrated how some philosophers have used them in particular arguments about morality. I discussed two texts that show how the explanatory model we choose also has practical and ethical consequences for how we look at responsibility. ...
