Cet article est conçu comme un état de l’art sur la manière dont l’anthropologie a traité la question de la liberté. Il revient à la fois sur les réticences de la discipline à s’emparer de cette notion et sur la manière dont cette dernière a irrigué le discours anthropologique. Il propose des pistes de recherche pour envisager la liberté comme objet d’ethnographie.

This article was conceived as a state of the art on the way anthropology has dealt with the issue of freedom. It both deals with the discipline’s reluctance to grasp this notion and to the way in which it has, however, irrigated anthropological discourse. It suggests different perspectives on how to approach freedom as an object of ethnographic inquiry.
