Iheard Rubén Martínez read a poem once at Self Help Graphic & Art in East L.A. He was standing on stage, reading from his laptop at a very fast pace in order to convey the speedy rhythm of his travels. He was propelling the audience from L.A to Mexico City, back and forth like a ping pong ball. The performance left me with a sense of thrill.
