What happens when a public works underwater diver, trained to work under the water, happens to operate under the ground and thus is made to work in an unknown environment, yet using his familiar equipment ? Drawing on a sensorial approach, taking into account the relations between subject, material things and environment, the research explores the socially acceptable limits of hostility, relying on this inexperience of the ground and on the emergence of a “ sense of the underground”.

Que se passe-t-il lorsqu’un scaphandrier travaux publics, formé à travailler dans l’eau, doit ponctuellement intervenir sous terre et se retrouve ainsi à travailler en milieu étranger doté d’un équipement pourtant familier ? À partir d’une approche sensorielle qui tient compte des relations entre sujet, objets matériels et environnement, l’enquête explore les limites socialement acceptables de l’hostilité en s’appuyant sur cette inexpérience de la terre et sur l’émergence d’un «sens du souterrain » .
