Ce thème de l’obscène nous renvoie à ce que notre culture tend à masquer de l’autre scène de l’être humain, de son désir. L’ obscène nous oblige en quelque sorte à regarder ce qui est ordinairement refoulé de la négativité du sexuel : tout cet autre côté inconscient des fantasmes et des identifications imaginaires qui enveloppent et regardent tout un chacun. Sous le concept d’institution du sujet introduit par Pierre Legendre ce texte se propose de faire valoir en quoi c’est bien en regard de l’économie confusionnelle de l’inceste (et du meurtre associé) qui gouverne l’ autre scène, que le sujet doit pouvoir subjectivement advenir comme tel, dans sa parole, en étant langagièrement et juridiquement institué dans l’ordre généalogique (œdipien) de la Loi.

This theme of the obscene brings us back to what our culture tends to mask from the other scene of the human being, from his desire. The obscene obliges us in a way to look at what is ordinarily repressed from the negativity of the sexual: all this other unconscious side of fantasies and imaginary identifications which envelop and look at everyone.Under the concept of the institution of the subject introduced by Pierre Legendre, this text sets out to show how it is in light of the confusing economy of incest (and associated murder) that governs the other scene, that the subject must be able to subjectively arise as such, in his speech, by being linguistically and legally instituted in the genealogical (Oedipal) order of the Law.
