Marie-Pierre Joly et al., « Understanding the tensions experienced by foster parents: A critical ethics approach », Empan, ID : 10670/1.lf1t96
In Québec, since 2009, foster parents supporting child welfare have had employee status and been represented by a union, and their role is regulated by a quality control process that oversees the service. As such, some are experiencing tensions similar to those experienced by foster parents in other professionalized environments. This article aims to tackle these tensions from the perspective of ethical dilemmas and to reflect on the ethical reasoning of foster parents by drawing on the foundations of virtue ethics.
