This work, conducted in two schools, enabled me to establish a corpus of pupil texts (fifth and sixth grades), composed by drafts and other intermediate versions, demanded or not by the teachers. Using a genetic criticism methodology, a database has been created in order to make an inventory of the four textual alterations (additions, deletions, substitutions and transpositions) of some pupils. Whereas previous studies have mostly associated deletions in pupil texts with a failure, quantitative and qualitative analyses performed in the present thesis suggest that deletions may reflect a genuine strategy. Finally, educational measures involving peer-review have been implemented in classes in order to study, on the one hand, peer advices about deletions and, on the other hand, the impact of these comments on the rewriting process.
