Nation start-up, la fin d’une ère ?

Les Israéliens sont fiers d’avoir été à l’origine d’inventions qui ont profité au monde entier, comme la clé USB et l’irrigation au goutte-à-goutte, sans compter de nombreuses applications qui équipent le téléphone mobile, l’ordinateur portable ou la maison intelligente. En revanche, si le secteur des hautes technologies doit son essor au soutien actif de l’État, il a commencé à montrer des signes d’essoufflement avec le passage accéléré au libéralisme au début des années 2000. Désormais, la fin de l’ère de la « nation start-up » semble se dessiner à l’horizon : les créations de start-up se raréfient, la main d’œuvre spécialisée manque et l’État n’investit presque plus.

The Israelis are proud to have created inventions for the benefit of the world as a whole, like the memory stick or the drip irrigation, but also applications which equip mobile phone, laptop or smart home. However, if the rise of the high-tech sector owes its growth to the active support of the State’s, it shows signs of breathlessness with the fast-tracking to liberalism in the beginning of the years 2000. Now it seems we approach the end of the “start-up nation” era: their creations become scarce, the skilled workforce is lacking, and the State hardly invest anymore.
