La communication traite une question frontière dans la problématique du discours rapporté : les cas où le locuteur prête à l’allocutaire, par dialogisme interlocutif anticipatif, un discours-réponse à son propre discours, et réagit à ce discours-réponse, en le « rapportant », ou… sans le rapporter. Selon la façon dont est traité l’énoncé ultérieur prêté à l’allocutaire sont distinguées quatre formes de dialogisme interlocutif anticipatif : la prolepse, l’amalgame, l’ellipse, l’écho du non-dit.

A grin without a cat… when the speech attributed to the person addressed is not always reported This article, based on some of the concepts of discourse analysis and of the linguistics of enunciation, deals with a question on the borderline of reported speech: cases where the speaker attributes a speech to the person addressed, by anticipatory dialogism, in answer to his own utterance. The speaker reacts to this attributed speech ‘reporting it’ or without reporting it. We distinguish four forms of anticipatory dialogism according to the way of treating the utterance attributed to the addressee: the prolepsis, the amalgam, the ellipse and the echo.
