Wolfgang Sabler, « Heinrich Schnitzler, passeur entre les cultures et les héritages », Études Germaniques, ID : 10670/1.pg06gf
Heinrich Schnitzler, the son of the well-known writer, was forced to interrupt his successful carreer as an actor, dramatist and director in 1938 and flee into exile. He spent a quarter of his life in the USA, where he worked as a director and university professor. He was a mediator of culture – especially European theatre culture – and helped with the cultural integration of European exiles. He came back to Austria only in 1962, renowned and acclaimed, as a symbol of a possible overcoming of the past.
