Sandrine Darsel, « The Paradox of Conceptual Art », Nouvelle revue d’esthétique, ID : 10670/1.pljcgt
We expect that conceptual art possesses a high cognitive value, due to its specificity: the most important isn’t the work of art as result but the artistic action understood and characterized as intellectual. However, we can have doubt about the cognitive role which is attributed to the conceptual art, or at least, to reconsider its epistemic content. In that sense, I would like to develop the following argumentation. The cognitive weakness of the conceptual art is not explained by a lack of propositional contents but by its logical conditions of reception.
