The concept of Russian nation has evolved over time and according to ideological trends. The current power promotes the return to a reactionary vision of the nation, designed as gathering of the people around a strong leader, a conception theorized by the Minister of Public Instruction of Nicolas I, Count Ouvarov. This concept goes hand in hand with the enhancement of the stability of power and a strong historical revisionism to erase the rupture of 1917.
