Today we are publishing the collaboration of a young Italian historian whose research focuses on the regions of Yucatan and Guatemala in the 16th and 17th centuries. Riccardo Mardegan is currently a Ph.D. candidate in History from the University of Pavia in Italy. He has sent to us a text in two languages, Italian and English, about a rebellion in the town of Tekax, Yucatan, which occurred in 1610.
