Résumé 0

Burns are the third most common cause of physical trauma in children after falls and cuts. Depending on the severity of the burn, judged by the surface and depth of the lesions, their location and the existence of associated lesions, a decision is made to admit the patient to hospital. The length of stay can be long, up to more than three weeks. In view of the large number of hospital admissions and the particularly vulnerable nature of the families involved, a specific system of support for these situations, with dedicated care both during hospitalization and on discharge, has been set up in conjunction with the two orthopaedic surgeons on the ward.
